Meta 42

I built this little amp mainly because I found the original boards and most of the important parts (like op-amps and now discontinued Elantec buffers) on Ebay and scored them for next to nothing. The Meta 42 is an older design by Tangent and has been superseded by the PIMETA... it is a nice, compact and inexpensive amplifier using typical FET-input dual op-amps that can be used at home or on the desktop in the office.

Building was easy and staightforward, and I cased it up in a small Hammond extruded case with a matching case (in opposite colour) for the Tread power supply providing 18V DC.  This is a cute little combo that also sounded quite nice but lacked the resolution and heft of my bigger amplifiers. Today there might be more capable designs of that size out there ...
